Facebook adds more security features for its users
Facebook recently added a new security feature. From now onwards, users can safely login from the computers located in public places, mobiles and laptops using secured or unsecured public WiFi networks for internet access.
With over 500 million users worldwide, Facebook has added the ability for users to login and surf the site using a more secured encrypted connection, known as HTTPS (Hypertext Transfer Protocol over Secure Socket Layer)
The encryption is the same that is used by various online shopping websites, email service providers and all banking and financial transaction websites to secure their connections and safeguard user login details.
Users can start using this feature and their login session will be fully encrypted having a high grade cipher strength. The users who are using public internet through wi fi, should use this feature, in order to safeguard their personal login data.
How to login on facebook, with having an encrypted session over internet ?
Just type:
https://www.facebook.com
And login, normally. The site may function slightly slowly using HTTPS and some other features, including third party applications, a few of them, don’t support HTTPS.
In addition to the above added encryption, Facebook, may also offer “Social Authentication” a unique form of the traditional”captcha” coding that will ask a user to identify Facebook friends from their photographs..
The two new features, will surely boost the safety and security of vulnerable user, using a standard internet over public network.
PS: Facebook has the right to change or alter the features, depending on their users security needs.
